How we chose
Each beach meets the criterion under its group, and each reason comes from an official source: tourism boards, councils, public agencies or the Blue Flag programme. A sampling point rated insufficient in the 2024 or 2025 bathing-water report excludes a beach. A point rated sufficient, the third of four classes, gets a water note. Without a water note, every point was rated good or excellent in both years. Four picks have no sampling point, as their notes say. We do not rank on looks, popularity, our own visits or today's score.
