    What is Cala Tuent like?

Cala Tuent is an isolated cove of sand, gravel and pebbles in Escorca, about 180 m long, between Sa Costera and Sa Calobra. It sits between the headlands of Punta de Sa Corda and Morro des Forat, under a hill covered in pines. Escorca council counts it among the few untouched coves left on the island.

How do I get to Cala Tuent, and where do I park?

You can drive to Cala Tuent on the Ma-2141, and the last stretch of road down is steep. You can park very close to the beach. Under Escorca's 2024 parking ordinance, Cala Tuent is a paid parking zone, with time limits from 9:00 to 19:00 between 1 April and 31 October. The same ordinance also makes parts of the Cala Tuent area restricted-traffic zones, open only to listed vehicles such as those taxed in Escorca or holding a council pass, so follow the signs. In summer, boats also run to the cove from Port de Sóller, and a hiking trail links it with the port's Mirador de Ses Barques.

What are the sand and water like at Cala Tuent?

Cala Tuent has a strip of dark sand that soon gives way to gravel and pebbles. The cove is about 55 m wide, and the seabed is sand, rock and Posidonia seagrass. Waves are usually moderate.

What facilities does Cala Tuent have?

Cala Tuent has no services on the beach, so bring drinking water and something to eat. On the left, a staircase climbs to the only restaurant in the area. No lifeguard service is confirmed, and Escorca has no beach on ADEAC's 2026-2027 Blue Flag list.

    When is Cala Tuent busiest?

Cala Tuent's occupancy is rated medium. Coaches, minibuses, vehicles over 4.5 tonnes, caravans and motorhomes may only arrive between 11:00 and 13:30. The 2024 ordinance allows just 5 coach parking places a day at Cala Tuent, and they must be booked in advance all year.

    Which winds affect Cala Tuent?

Cala Tuent faces north-northwest, about 336°, so we estimate that northwest and north winds send waves into the cove. Southeast and south winds blow offshore, so those are usually the calmer days.

What should I watch out for at Cala Tuent?

At Cala Tuent, wear bathing shoes: past the sand the shore is gravel and pebbles, and rocks lie on the seabed. There is no official water-quality sampling point at Cala Tuent.
