## What is Peguera (La Romana) like?

Platja de La Romana is the smallest of Peguera's three beaches, in Calvià, and lies right next to Torà. It is also called Peguera Romana or Platja dels Morts, and takes its name from an old possessió (farm estate) that once stood here. Rocks, pines, hotels and villas frame the sand, and a promenade runs along it. Past a rocky point to the east lies a small stony cove.

## How do I get to Peguera (La Romana), and where do I park?

On the motorway from Palma, take the first exit, signed Peguera La Romana, and turn left at the first roundabout to reach La Romana. You can park free around the beach, and the promenade makes the sand easy to reach. Bus line 122 has a La Romana stop, but only on its run from Santa Ponça towards Port d'Andratx. Peguera itself is 8.4 km by road from Andratx.

## What are the sand and water like at Peguera (La Romana)?

La Romana is a small artificial beach of fine white sand, about 110 m long and 50 m wide. The same white sand covers the slope into the water and the seabed. Behind the beach, pines and juniper grow on a dune system.

## What facilities does Peguera (La Romana) have?

Lifeguards and a Red Cross post look after La Romana, and a walkway leads onto the sand. The council sheet counts 206 sunloungers, 103 parasols, a kiosk, a shower and a public toilet. Hotels and restaurants stand close by. Here, as everywhere in Calvià, beach services operate between 15 March and 30 November. La Romana also holds the Q de Calidad, a tourism quality flag, on the council's June 2026 list.

## When is Peguera (La Romana) busiest?

The council's technical sheet rates La Romana's occupancy as medium, and Calvià's tourism site calls the beach much quieter than Torà next door. The reasons given are that it is less central and smaller, and that woodland borders one end. Calvià shows live occupancy for the Peguera beaches online, refreshed every 10 minutes.

## Which winds affect Peguera (La Romana)?

La Romana faces west-south-west, about 245°, which by our estimate leaves it open to south-west and west winds. North-east and east winds come over the land and should leave the water calmer. For boaters, Calvià's tourism page warns that south-east, south and south-west winds reach the beach, and recommends anchoring during the day.

## What should I watch out for at Peguera (La Romana)?

At La Romana, swimming is banned at the breakwaters and in other signed zones (council rules). Pets, fires, camping and street selling are not allowed. The Govern rated the bathing water at La Romana excellent in both 2024 and 2025.
